MonkyArtyPrints has been painting and spraying for a few years now and has always been a hobby. Due to more and more interest in Monky's work she has decided to start to take things a little more seriouslyand sell her art to the world of monkys' and people.
The idea for the pieces MonkyArtyPrints has created is in regards to what is deemed by society as beautiful and to challenge these preconceptions. The themes which are depicted are birth, relationships and body image. MonkyArtyPrints feels, that as a gay female, these issues are highly important to her and others from the lesbian community. There is a great deal of imagery which shows the 'perfect' baby, the 'perfect' relationship, and the 'perfect' perception of body image. MonkyArtyPrints art focuses on images which the media do not portray in a positive light.
MonkyArtyPrints would like for her work to encourage the thinking of current ideologies and the individual's conceptions of what is beautiful and hopefully widen these conceptions. However, the viewer's perceptions of the images are far more important than this waffle.
